Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport our driver guide will be waiting for meet and greet followed by a brief of your Rwanda visit. Depart for your safari in Rwanda also known as "Land of a Thousand Hills", your tour begins with a visit to Kigali Genocide memorial Centre and thereafter proceed on to the City Centre for a quick lunch. After lunch visit the Caplaki Crafts market followed by a 2-hr drive to Volcanoes National park where you arrive in good time for check in, dinner and overnight.
Today you start with early breakfast then proceed to the National Park headquarters for a Gorilla tracking experience in the Volcanoes National Park. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. You can request for group of the family desired as per time taken to trek, if possible. After Gorilla tracking return to your Lodge for lunch and afternoon at leisure around the lodge or find enough time to admire your photos on the Gorilla tracking activities or visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village and mingle with the local community in the cultural activities and traditional Rwandese dances. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Start with early breakfast at the lodge and return to Volcanoes National Park, this time for in search of Golden Monkeys trek. Entering dense stands of bamboo interspersed with open glades; you will make your way deep into golden monkey territory. Your guide will lead you to the habitat of groups of ‘habituated’ golden monkeys – monkeys used to human presence. Though viewing is kept to a maximum of one hour, travelers can get an up-close look at the golden monkey in its natural habitat. After the viewing you start your trek headed to the lodge to arrive in good time for an early lunch. After lunch check out and depart for a drive to Lake Kivu. Arrive in good time for check in at your hotel followed by a 1-hour boat ride on the Lake while you visit popular spots like close Islands, hot springs and fishing spots where you will meet and interact with fishermen. After the boat ride you return to the Hotel where you stay for the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and Ovenight.
Today you start with breakfast and check out of the Hotel. Enjoy a Gisenyi City tour, to the border points of Petite and Grand Barrier. From here you will be able to gain sights of the Congo DRC’s Goma town and compare it with the Rwanda’s Gisenyi town and learn more. Pass through the main streets and the markets as you drive out back to Kigali City. Lunch and thereafter proceed to Kigali Airport to arrive in good time for check in of your departure flight taking with you lots of great trek memories.
