Day 2 - Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Leave Kampala and head north to the largest National Park in Uganda – Murchison Falls Park. The drive takes about 5 hours from Kampala via Masindi route, but the trip is well worth the drive. There are lots to see as you head north through small and vibrant towns such as Luweero, Masindi where you encounter local communities busy on their daily life activities of farming, roadside vendors selling their food and drinks. Arrive at your lodge in good time for check in followed by lunch. In the late afternoon set off for the first game drive anticipating to see lions, elephants, giraffes, antelopes of all types, warthogs, buffaloes. The park boasts many Savanna Birds that you will come across during your game viewing drives. The vehicle has a pop-up roof so that you can stand and take better pictures. After the game drives return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Murchison Falls and Boat Safari Cruise on River Nile

Today you start with early morning breakfast and depart for an early morning game drive across the savanna, along Lake Albert Delta, teeming with abundant wildlife as the sun rises. What you experience here cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world, this is Murchison Falls Park with its birds, lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, humorous appearing warthogs. The only park in Uganda where you can be lucky to find the Big 5!!. Return back to the lodge for lunch and thereafter get ready to experience one of the best highlights of your Murchison Falls National Park Safari, - the boat safari cruise up the Nile River. You cruise along the river bank viewing crocodile and abundance of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes, lots of birds including the fish eagle, storks and so much more. The boat moves gently up the river and stay on the left hand side so that you see most of the animals who come to the river. As a highlight of the safari you will come across - the Murchison Falls – the most powerful waterfall in the World. The River Nile is 50 meters wide above the falls, but suddenly moves down through a 6-meter gorge and falls down 43 meters, the sound is deafening and the sight makes one realize how forceful nature can be. At the bottom of the falls disembark and take the guided hike up along the most powerful waterfall in the world – Murchison Falls. You will be cooled down with some mist from the falls to keep you comfortable. This is the same up and down trail that Winston Churchill used in 1907 when he visited the Falls. At the top of the falls you are met by your driver guide and you will cross the Nile by ferry and head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Murchison Falls to Kampala

Start with breakfast and embark on an early morning game viewing drive. After the game drive you cross the Nile by ferry and head for Masindi where you will have a lunch stop at the Masindi Hotel, the hotel was built in 1923 and is the oldest hotel in Uganda. It is here where Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn stayed while making “The African Queen”. After lunch continue afterwards Kampala stopping first at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. With a Ranger you will go on foot for a Rhino Trek - this is about 1.5 hours long and you come into close proximity with the Rhinos. Thereafter proceed on to Entebbe Int’l Airport to arrive in good time for check in of your evening departure flight.
